Many of us use Instagram for social reasons, but there are a good amount of people out there who want more out of their social media accounts. Changing your profile to a business or creator account can help you do just that. With access to additional metrics, your business or creator profile can now show you post analytics that you never knew existed with their “account insights.” After doing this you can now see how many people saved your post, how many people sent it to others, and even geographical demographics that breaks down where your followers who liked your post are from.

To some, this information may seem baseless, but it can give you something invaluable for your future content; intention. Analyzing patterns can reveal to you what kinds of content your audience enjoys or engages in more. Knowing this will create a heightened sense of awareness for your brand identity. It can also raise questions such as, “Is the content my audience likes aligning with my personal or business brand identity?” Whether the answer is yes or no, the direction is still made clear through the access of newfound data you may now have.

Before you begin:

  1. You need to have a business or creator account on Instagram to view insights. 

View insights on Instagram

To view account insights:

  1. Go to your profile.

  2. Tap the Insights action button.

    • You can also go to  in the upper right corner, and tap Insights.

  3. Tap the metrics under the Overview section or specific content you’ve shared for a more detailed breakdown.

Keep in mind that you'll only see insights for content you've posted since you converted to a business or creator account.
